Traffic chaos for rush hour drivers after burst gas main in Thornliebank area

Drivers are facing major delays following a burst gas main on a Thornliebank road ahead of rush hour.

SGN are currently in attendance at the incident on Thornliebank Road at Boydstone Road.

Temporary traffic signals are in place as works take place, with no diversion in place, meaning delays are expected for traffic, especially during peak times.

Glasgow City Council has warned drivers to expect delays in the area and advise them to use an alternative route if possible.

A council statement reads: "SGN are currently attending a burst gas main in Thornliebank Road at Boydstone Road. Temporary traffic signals are in place and this will result in delays for traffic especially at peak periods.

Drivers are strongly advised to use alternative routes where possible."
