Traffic chaos for Edinburgh Queensferry Crossing with huge delays after three vehicle smash

A busy motorway has been blocked following reports of a multi-vehicle smash in Fife - leading to huge delays for drivers at the Queensferry Crossing.

Emergency services raced to the scene on the northbound carriageway of the M90, near Dunfermline, just before 11am on Saturday.

Heavy traffic has already built up in the surrounding area, with Traffic Scotland's Twitter account reporting that 'traffic is slowing from the QFC with around a 40 minute delay.'

It is not currently known whether anyone has been injured and two cars and a HGV are understood to be involved in the collision.

Traffic Scotland tweeted : “M90 N/B J2-2A remains blocked due to an RTC. Traffic slowing from the Queensferry Crossing with around a 40 minute delay.

“Emergency services are at the scene.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: Officers were called around 10.45am to reports of a 3 vehicle crash on the M90 northbound, near Junction 2a.

"Officers are currently at the scene."
