Southbound lanes have re-opened on Lookout Road after a three-car crash caused traffic chaos near John Hunter Hospital Monday afternoon.
Emergency crews were called to the scene around 4.20pm where they are believed to be working to clear the scene. The site was cleared around an hour later, but traffic remains heavy on the road.
Traffic is backed up as far as Newcastle Road near St Johns Primary School.
Drivers have been advised to allow extra time and to travel safely.
