Traffic at 'standstill' as car left on grass verge after smash on Scots road

Traffic is at a standstill on a busy Scots road after a four-vehicle smash left one car on the grass verge.

The crash on the A90 is understood to have happened at around 8am on Friday morning, September 3.

The collision is believed to have taken place near the Miller and Carter restaurant with emergency services at the scene.

Dramatic photos shared by Fife jammer locations showed two cars having come to a stop on the road.

Meanwhile, one car appears to have swerved off the busy carriageway onto the grass verge following the smash.

Motorists on the route heading into Edinburgh are now said to be facing long delays with traffic at a 'standstill'.

One said: "I’m stuck in it the now."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 8.15am on Friday, 3 September, officers were called to a report of a road crash involving four cars on the A90 near to South Queensferry. Emergency services are at the scene."

It's not yet known if anyone has been injured in the collision.
