Tradeston crash: Man rushed to hospital after van flips on side

A man has been taken to hospital after van has flipped on its side in a two car crash in Tradeston.

The incident happened at around 1.50pm this afternoon at the junction of Nelson Street and Tradeston Street. The road remains closed to all vehicles.

Police Scotland attended the scene and the man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

The extent of his injuries is not currently known.

A spokeswoman for the force said: "We were made aware of a crash involving two vehicles on Tradeston Street in Glasgow around 1.55pm on Thursday, 10 December.

"One man has been taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and the road is currently closed."

Glasgow City Council have advised all drivers to avoid the area and use an alternative route.

A statement from their Traffic Control & Management team reads: "Due to an earlier road traffic collision at Nelson Street/Tradeston Street junction, delays and possible road closures can be expected.

Please use an alternative route."
