Tradeston blaze after car ploughs into building following crash

Emergency services rushed to the scene of a car crash in Tradeston this afternoon after one of the vehicles ploughed into a nearby building, causing it to go up in flames.

The collision happened just after 3pm (Wednesday) on Nelson Street.

A police spokesperson told Glasgow Live that at least one of the vehicles smashed into a nearby building.

He added: "We were called to a two-vehicle traffic collision at around 3.05pm.

"There is no indication of any injuries."

The blaze has since been extinguished but Nelson Street is currently closed to drivers, as is nearby Tradeston Street.

Drivers are being warned to prepare for delays in the area or find alternative routes.

A council traffic statement adds: "Tradeston Street and Nelson Street are both closed due to an earlier road traffic collision.

"Follow Police directions."
