Tracy Beaker is to return for a new spin-off series entitled The Beaker Girls.
Dani Harmer previously reprised her role as Tracy Beaker in the comeback series My Mum Tracy Beaker earlier this year.
The episodes saw the show become the CBBC’s most successful launch ever, being streamed 2.1million times on BBC iPlayer in its first three days on the platform.
Now the actress will reprise her classic role as the heroine from author Jacqueline Wilson, with Emma Maggie Davies reprising her role as her smart and sassy daughter Jess.
The new series will also see returns from Jordan Duvigneau as Tracy’s love interest Sean Godfrey, Lisa Coleman as Tracy’s foster mother Cam, Danielle Henry as Cam’s wife Mary, and Montana Brown as Tracy’s oldest nemesis Justine Littlewood.

The Beaker Girls will also feature new arrivals in the form of newcomer Chi-Megan Ennis McLean as Tracy’s new ward Jordan and Alibe Parsons as the junk shop owner named Flo.
Despite having the time of their lives running the Dumping Ground junk shop in the seaside town of Cooksea, Tracy and Jess find new allies and enemies as they get trading.
The new series will focus on the Beaker girls finding their world changed forever by the arrival of runaway teen Jordan.
Having struggled in the care system, Jordan becomes the new focus of Tracy’s attention when she is considered for being fostered into the Beaker home.
Despite Tracy seeing this as life coming full circle after she herself was fostered by Cam as a child, her daughter Jess may not see this as a positive.

Having an incredibly close relationship with her mum, could the arrival of Jordan change this forever?
Tali Walters, Genre Lead, BBC Children's In-house Drama, said of the character’s impending return: “The enduring affection of our audiences for the character of Tracy Beaker was clear in the reaction to My Mum Tracy Beaker.
“The Beaker Girls promises to touch the hearts of our audiences and we’re tremendously excited to work with such a talented cast and crew to bring this captivating mother and daughter back to the screen and unveil their next chapter.”
The character of Tracy Beaker was first introduced in the 1991 novel The Story of Tracy Beaker by Jacqueline Wilson.
Dani Harmer made her debut as the character in the BBC series of the same name which was first broadcast in 2002.
The show ran for five series until 2005 and also had a feature-length TV movie in 2004.
Dani reprised the role in three series of sequel show Tracy Beaker Returns from 2010 to 2012.
The show also spawned a spin-off series The Dumping Ground which began airing in 2013.
