Tractor ends up on M60 after driver 'takes wrong turn on way to Burnley'

A driver has been fined after "taking a wrong turn on the way to Burnley" and ending up on the M60 in his tractor.

Greater Manchester Police posted a picture of the vehicle, which is banned from motorways, on Thursday.

GMP Traffic, who man the region's roads, posted on their Twitter feed: " Tractor on the M60 motorway.

"Driver apparently had taken a wrong turn on the way to Burnley. 

"Fined for a prohibited vehicle on a motorway and recovered from the hard shoulder."

Any agricultural vehicles are banned from all motorways in the UK, alongside pedestrians, motorbikes under 50cc, horse riders and mobility scooters.
