Trackside solar farm at the Indy 500 – big picture

IMS solar farm next to  Indianapolis Motor Speedway
The solar farm claims to be the largest at any sporting facility in the world, with 39,312 solar modules providing 9.0 megawatts of capacity, enough to power about 1,000 homes. The solar developers, SunWize Technologies Inc of San Jose and Blue Renewable Energy of Phoenix, claim the project will save more than 10,000 tonnes of carbon a year. Illustration: IMS
