Tracking Tennessee Titans roster cuts ahead of 2019 season

The 2019 NFL preseason reached its conclusion Thursday night for the Tennessee Titans as the team topped the Chicago Bears, 19-15 at Soldier field.

Now, Tennessee faces the tall task of trimming down to a 53-man roster. This means the Titans will be parting ways with some players who flashed a lot of potential in camp, but were just short of making the team.

Here’s a look at players who won’t remain on the active roster in Nashville.

With the competition at tight end, it’s hard to believe Ryan Hewitt ever stood a chance at making the team. He’s mainly functioned as a halfback, but that won”t get him a spot on the roster.

Outside linebacker Derick Roberson had a dominant showing against the Bears, recording two of three Titans sacks. The Sam Houston State product failed to crack the roster, though.

Defensive lineman Braxton Hoyett was also let go.

Offensive tackle Tyler Marz was released, and rightfully so, after delivering several dismal performances within a struggling offensive line.

Several undrafted free agents departed from the team as well.

Linebacker LaTroy Lewis and center Hroniss Grasu were cut.

Former LSU defensive lineman Frank Herron was released on Thursday afternoon.
