Tracking Seattle Seahawks’ released players: Where did they end up?

The Seattle Seahawks set their initial 53-man roster by the league deadline Saturday but the team has a lot of work to do yet this weekend. Newly-available players can now be signed as vested veterans or via the waiver wire and Seattle can begin to set its 10-man practice squad.

We’ll be tracking the latest additions and practice squad signings as the news is released. We’ll also be monitoring where Seattle’s released players landed, if not back with the Seahawks.

Defensive end Cassius Marsh: Expected to sign with Cardinals.

Former Seahawks’ DE Cassius Marsh, a casualty in Seattle from the Jadeveon Clowney deal, is now expected to stay in the NFC West and sign with the Cardinals, per source. Marsh had 5.5 sacks and 14 QB hits last year. Would play in a rotation with Terrell Suggs and Chandler Jones.

Running back J. D. McKissic: Claimed by Lions off waivers.

Quarterback Paxton Lynch: Went unclaimed and is now a free agent.

Among the players not claimed off waivers: former first-round draft picks WR Laquon Treadwell, WR Josh Doctson, QB Paxton Lynch and G Josh Garnett, as well as CB Teez Tabor, RB Josh Adams, WR Keelan Doss and OLB Jachai Polite. They are all now free agents.

The Seahawks are signing WRs Terry Wright and Jazz Ferguson to their practice squad, I’m told. Also signed OT Elijah Nkansah to their practice squad, per his agent @jkrenis. Ferguson first reported by @TomPelissero.

The Seahawks are signing G/C Kyle Fuller to their practice squad, a source tells me. He's played in 11 game with two starts since being drafted in the seventh round in 2017 by Houston. Was with Miami this summer.
