It turns out not practicing for over a week before suiting up and playing a football game might not be the smartest move. The Baltimore Ravens haven’t practiced, barring a few socially-distant walkthroughs, since before they played the Tennessee Titans over a week ago. And against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the injuries are starting to pile up for a team that has no wiggle room for them.
Quarterback Robert Griffin III — starting for Lamar Jackson, who is out on the Reserve/COVID-19 list — was limping after plays twice in this game. The first came after a four-yard run in the first half while the second came after a big hit in the fourth quarter. With Griffin having his thigh wrapped in ice on the sideline, it’s officially Trace McSorley time.
McSorley was far from perfect on his first drive in the game but he did keep the drive alive on fourth-and-two, picking up six yards on the ground. If the Ravens are going to win this game, McSorley is going to have to be the spark and he’ll need to make it quick with time ticking down fast.
