- Tim Allen, the voice of Buzz Lightyear, has revealed he believed the Toy Story franchise would end after its third instalment in 2010.
- The 72-year-old actor will reunite with Tom Hanks’ Woody in the upcoming fifth film.
- Allen told the Radio Times: "I thought ( Toy Story 3) was the end of it.” He also reflected on the characters’ reunion, adding: “I said (to the filmmakers) that I had such a hard time saying goodbye to this man in (Toy Story 4) that you’ve got to have a moment where they connect and Buzz sees that he’s back. That moment is simple and short, but it happens."
- The plot of Toy Story 5 will see the toys, including Joan Cusack's character, grappling with new technology after their owner, Bonnie, acquires a smart tablet.
- Pop superstar Taylor Swift has penned an original song, "I Knew It, I Knew You," for the movie.
