Toy Story 4: Tim Allen reveals he struggled to get through 'emotional' scenes as Buzz Lightyear

Tim Allen has revealed that he had to “resist getting emotional” when he voiced his last scenes as Buzz Lightyear in Toy Story 4.

The much-loved franchise is back on the big screen next year, in June 2019, with a fourth instalment, details of which are being kept tightly under wraps.

But Allen opened up about his final To Infinity And Beyond during a chat with The Talk, confessing that he “couldn’t get through it”.

Allen said: “I gotta resist getting emotional. I don’t want to give it away, but this is an incredibly great story. It is so emotional, it’s so funny, it’s so big, the idea they’ve come up with, I’m startled.

“I couldn’t even get through the last scene. I just can’t do it. I can’t give any more away.

“They’ve got great characters but a couple of scenes toward the end were really hard to get through.”

Toy Story 4 will be the next outing for Andy (Tom Hanks), Jessie (Joan Cusack) and Allen’s Buzz Lightyear, ending the story of characters who first captured the hearts of the globe years ago.

The first film, released by Pixar in 1995, was an instant success with audiences and has stood the test of time with its popularity.

Toy Story 4 will be released on Friday 21 June 2019.
