Toy Story 4 Easter egg teases next Pixar film as well reference old favs

Toy Story 4 will include an Easter egg teasing an upcoming Pixar movie.

Continuing the Pixar tradition, Toy Story 4's Easter egg won't really make any sense until the next film Onward is released.

Toy Story 4 followed the same pattern with Duke Caboom appearing in Incredibles 2 under Jack Jack's cot.

"Duke Caboom was in Jack-Jack's crib in Incredibles 2 and, yes, I won't spoil it, but you'll see a little nugget of Onward somewhere hidden in Toy Story 4, it's really fun," producer Jonas Rivera told Digital Spy .

There's plenty of other Easter eggs in the movie, like the number on the antique shop front's number referencing the year Pixar was founded.

"When Bo Peep and the sheep meet Woody, she's out in the world collecting things, so we just needed a ton of things. Luckily, we have all these movies with objects in them, so the sheep bring her a bottle cap, it’s the grape soda from Up, all that stuff," Rivera said.

The antique store was ripe for Easter eggs too.

The wine glasses are from Ratatouille, the bear carving from Brave - the shelves are filled with Easter eggs.

One thing you won't see is Boo from Monsters Inc, even though fans thought they saw her in trailers.

Maybe I should just say it's Boo, but it's not Boo. I don't think we could even use the model of Boo, it's so old, but we do love Boo. It's just a kid that looks like her," Rivera said.

Oh well, there's still plenty to keep an eye out for.

Toy Story 4 is released in cinemas on June 21.
