Toy Story 4 will contain an Easter Egg for Pixar‘s next movie, Onward, a producer has revealed.
Jonas Rivera, one of the producers who worked on Toy Story 4, told Digital Spy that viewers should look out for a “fun” surprise when the film is released in June.
He explained that fans have previously figured out that Duke Caboom, the character voiced by Keanu Reeves in Toy Story 4, makes a stealthy appearance in Incredibles 2, which came out last year.
“Duke Caboom was in Jack-Jack’s crib in Incredibles 2 and, yes, I won’t spoil it, but you’ll see a little nugget of Onward somewhere hidden in Toy Story 4, it’s really fun,” Rivera said.
Onward, which will be voiced by Chris Pratt, Tom Holland, Octavia Spencer and Julia Louis-Dreyfus, will be released in 2020.
It tells the story of two teenage elves who set out to find out whether magic still exists.
Dan Scanlon, the maker of Monsters University, is directing the suburban fantasy.
