As 2020 draws to a close people across the world are celebrating in a very different way to past years.
There is no doubt that the entire nation and more is ready to put a very difficult behind us once and for all as we hope for a brighter 2021.
While it was certainly a dark year there were some bright moments, and Adam King brought one of them to people across the globe.
The six-year-old stole the hearts of the nation when he showed Ryan Tubridy his "virtual hug" and talked about his dream of working for NASA.
This Christmas, his virtual hug postmark featured be on millions of letters delivered around the world.
Now the inspirational young lad has issued a lovely message on New Year's as we bid farewell to 2020.
In an adorable video posted on social media Adam can be seen holding his virtual hug saying: "Hello everyone. Thank you for everything in 2020. Here is a virtual hug for 2021".
The post was accompanied with the caption from Adam's Parents hich read: "Wishing everyone a #HappyNewYear2021 ! Thank you for taking Adam into your hearts - you are in ours too.
Little did we realise just over a month ago, after Adam's appearance on the #LateLateToyShow , the impact he would have on so many people around Ireland- and the world!
"His Virtual Hug has become a symbol for so many people everywhere and we couldn't be more proud.
"In the difficult times we are living through, Adam is so happy to have helped brighten people's days. He wanted to share a little video to say thanks to you all (recorded earlier- he's in bed now!"
