Town's third generation retailer prepares to re-open as lockdown measures ease

Grimsby’s first name in retail is preparing to re-open as lockdown restrictions relax for non-essential shops.

Ramsdens Home Interiors will roll up the shutters from Monday, with special measures brought in to ensure safety of staff and customers.

Andy Taylor, retail director at Ramsdens Home Interiors, said: “As a local company supporting our community for the last 75 years we are very pleased to be re-opening and have carefully thought about how we can do this safely so our customers feel confident whilst shopping with us.

“There will be a one-way system around the store and hygiene stations on all floors and at the entrance so people can sanitise their hands.

“We will also have a member of our team at the entrance monitoring the flow of people in and out and to ensure that social distancing is followed.

“Our home interiors store covers 33,000 sq ft across three floors so we have plenty of space available for customers to browse at their leisure whilst observing social distancing.”

The group’s convenience and wholesale operations have traded throughout.

Ramsdens Home Interiors will be operating at slightly reduced hours – Monday to Saturday 9am to 5.30pm, instead of 6pm, and on Sundays from 10am to 4pm.
