TOWIE fans have hailed Courtney Green a “hero” after the reality star allowed ITVBe to film her having her very first smear test on the show.
The 24-year-old opened up about having her first cervical screening during yesterday’s episode before inviting cameras in to join her in the nurse’s office.
Courtney was joined by pal Chloe Meadows, who offered her a literal hand to squeeze after Courtney admitted she was nervous.
During the examination, Courtney is seen laying on the medical bed with a sheet placed over her lower half.
A nurse is heard explaining the procedure as Courtney is instructed to raise her legs.
The nurse told Courtney: “The reason we are doing it, we are looking for abnormalities in the cells in the cervix.
"It takes longer to set it up than it does to do it so please don't worry."
Holding up the speculum, she assured Courtney and told her to relax, adding: "This is the speculum, it feels a little cold and it will be a little uncomfortable but tell me if you find it too uncomfortable."
While the reality star appeared nervous, she was equally surprised when it was all over rather quickly.
She told Chloe: “It really wasn't that bad, I can't believe I have done it."
Chloe joked: "Well done to Courtney's vagina!" before adding: "Let's go get some wine and ice cream."
Viewers immediately took to Twitter to praise Courtney for using her first smear to help raise awareness.
One wrote: "Well done @courtneyMgreen for having your smear test filmed and raising awareness."
Another said: "Have to commend them for highlighting the importance of smear tests and huge admiration for @courtneyMgreen for getting it done on TV."
