TOWIE's Pete Wicks says he would never date pal Chloe Sims as fears hurting her

TOWIE's resident epic head of hair Pete Wicks has entirely ruled out the possibility that he would ever date co-star and close mate Chloe Sims.

Because of their closeness, fans have been convinced time and again that the two would finally get together.

Their wishes haven't come true though, as Pete insists they're just friends and nothing more.

Chatting to The Sun Online , Pete said: "Me and Chloe have been mates for so long it's one of those things, I would never want to hurt or ruin our friendship.

"I have had a bad history with women and Chloe has been hurt before so there's no way either of us would risk what we have.

"I know a lot of people would like to see us together. I do love her to bits as a person and I would never not want her in my life but just as friends.

"We have too much to lose to ever risk it."

Chloe is reportedly seeing Adil Rami, an ex of Baywatch babe Pamela Anderson, as the two were snapped in London together.

Pete, meanwhile, has been heaping praise on his ex and X Factor Celebrity hopeful Megan McKenna, for her strength following the tragic death of another one of her exes, Mike Thalassitis.

Mike took his own life in March, and Megan struggled to come to terms with it.

Pete told MailOnline : "I'm glad she's had a bit of space to deal with everything that has happened. I'm really glad me and her are friends again.

"She's a really strong person so burying herself in work in the best thing for her and I'm sure her new music is going to be great.

"I think she has been very, very dignified throughout the whole thing and it just goes to show the strength of character she has got."
