TOWIE's Megan McKenna to perform at Glastonbury after country music success

Former The Only Way Is Essex star, Megan McKenna, is set to perform a country set at Glastonbury this Sunday.

Since leaving the ITV reality show, Megan continued touring the television circuit, appearing on Big Brother, Ex on the Beach and The X Factor: Celebrity which she won in 2019. The success on the show launched a musical career for Megan who climbed the UK Country charts with her debut album, Story of Me, reaching a peak of number four.

It appears the mentoring help from Louis Walsh on X Factor has paid off as the newly formed country star will be hitting the big stage at Worthy Farm for Glastonbury festival. Speaking to Metro, Megan said: "For me, being on the line-up at Glastonbury is acceptance in the music industry. It’s literally a massive step for me and my career so I’m so excited."

She added: "I think there’s a difference between reality stars and TV personalities who go on shows and have a talent and are business-minded and want to grow themselves as a brand.

"I’m so grateful for some of the shows that I’ve done because they’ve given me a huge platform."

The 29-year-old dropped her new track Baby Talk today which has been described as a "full-blown country break-up anthem". As part of an ongoing series, Megan will be releasing new music every week that range from original work to covers. Megan is scheduled to perform her new track along with more of her discography on the Acoustic Stage this Sunday at 6 pm.
