TOWIE's Lauren Goodger issues statement and thanks fans for support after 'horrendous' time

The Only Way is Essex's Lauren Goodger has issued a lengthy statement on social media following the "horrendous terrible whirlwind" few weeks she's been through. The 35-year-old reality star thanked her followers for their support after the tragic deaths of her daughter, Lorena, and ex-boyfriend, Jake McClean, and an alleged attack she suffered.

Lauren, who paid tribute to her late daughter last month, posted to Instagram Stories on Thursday, August 18. She began by saying: "Just want to say thank you to everyone for all the love & support in this horrendous terrible whirlwind in my life the last few weeks! I do read your messages thank you.

"During this traumatic time I've lost but I've also gained some values in this awful heartbroken time ... some new friends and become closer to my current ones & some family ..it really has shown me who is meant to be in my life and I love each and every one one of you thank you .. I only have a few and that's all I need and it's taught me some life long lessons however hard it's been."

She continued: "Asked Lorena when I had her at home the night before her funeral ‘please guide me please let my life, lead the path it's meant to be & give me strength & courage’ and a lot changed instantly and I trust her.

"She is making my new path thank you Lorena I love you and I know you’re with me always and I know you've cleared out and made way for what's meant to be."

Lauren - who is also mum to one-year-old daughter Larose - finished her heartfelt post by admitting that she doesn't have any answers at the moment but is learning and labelled Lorena, her "rock". She signed off: "She has kept me going mentally and physically I love you so much my special girl."

Lauren's second daughter, Lorena, died following complications during birth last month. The tragic loss came whilst the TOWIE star was also grieving for her ex-boyfriend Jake McLean - who lost his life after his car plunged 70ft off a cliff in Turkey. Lauren was also allegedly assaulted on the day of her baby's funeral. Her boyfriend Charles Drury, 25, was later arrested and bailed following the incident.
