TOWIE's Ferne McCann was terrified she'd wet herself after childbirth leaves her with bladder condition

Ferne McCann has spoken about how a bladder condition after childbirth left her terrified she would wet herself.

The Towie favourite, 29, admitted that she was even terrified to leave the house in case she had an accident after giving birth to her daughter Sunday.

The reality star spoke to Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Lansford on This Morning, saying she used to joke about it with friends, but when the problem got worse, she knew something was wrong.

She said: "At first it was a bit of a joke between friends after giving birth to Sunday.

"I joked about it on my show but over time it progressively got worse.

"I was 28 at the time, I feel very much in my prime, with incontinence I would associate that with the elderly, not someone of my age.

"Even now sitting here I'm wincing a little bit, like 'really am I on This Morning talking about incontinence?'"

Ruth praised Ferne for speaking out about her condition, which affects one in three women.

Ferne, who first spoke of her struggles last month, explained: "It got to the stage where it was affecting my day to day life.

“I couldn't do cardio which I really love, I didn't want to go on long journeys, I wanted to be professional at work."

Ferne, whose stage one prolapsed bladder can be fixed with exercise, admitted that she didn’t do her pelvic floor exercises when she was pregnant despite her mum advising her to do so.

She said: "You can't physically feel it, it's the symptoms like leakage and no control over your bladder.

"My mum told me to do my pelvic floor exercises but I was pregnant and just wanted to enjoy it and so I didn't do them."

This Morning airs weekdays from 10.30am on ITV.
