TOWIE's Amy Childs in tears as she opens up about insecurities on series opener

Amy Childs broke down on the debut of the new season of The Only Way Is Essex on Sunday.

Amy, 32, burst into tears during a chat with Jordan Brook and James Lock in the Dominican Republic. One of the original cast, the redhead opened up about her insecurities and how she feels less confident as she's one of the oldest cast members.

She said: "The past couple of months I have lost my complete confidence. I come out here and I feel like all the girls have beautiful bodies."

The boys tried to reassure her, but she complained how social media was affecting her mood. She continued: "Social media for me, I think it's hard... I just feel like I am going to be back to me in a couple of months, hopefully. Look at you two training. I feel like I need to get my head straight, do you know what I mean?"

She also discussed her on-off relationship with Billy and was tearful as she showed a clip he sent her of her daughter Polly.

"I literally just got a message," she said as she showed the footage to the lads as the youngster sang happy birthday. "How beautiful is she?" Amy said while her voice started to break. She then covered her mouth as she cried and asked why she was so upset.

"Oh my god, I just miss my kids so much," the mum-of-two said as James and Jordan attempted to comfort her.

The current series is set to bring fireworks to our screens next week as Ella Rae Wise gets set to arrive on the island.

On Sunday's episode, Ella Rae left a voice note for Harry Derbidge to claim Dan Edgar had been flirting with her behind the back of his girlfriend Amber Turner.

Elsewhere, fans watching the series opener shared their unease at Yazmin Oukhello appearing in the new series in scenes filmed weeks before suffering in a horror crash which saw her on-off boyfriend Jake McLean die.

The influencer appeared in the first episode on ITVbe and was joined by her co-stars on holiday in the Dominican Republic and spoke about her relationship with James Lock, who she broke up with last year.
