Towering display of Olympic support

The Tokyo Skytree is getting into the Olympic spirit, with the tower in Sumida Ward illuminated in the five Olympic colors and the Olympic logo lit up on the observation deck.

The 350-meter tower will be illuminated daily from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. until the closing day of the Tokyo Olympics on Aug. 8 as a show of support for the athletes.

"We hope it will make people feel brighter as they look up at the Tree," said an official of the management company. "It would be nice if it also encourages the athletes."
