Tower Hamlets stabbing: Man, 23, dies in hospital after double stabbing in east London street

Police are investigating after a man died following a stabbing in east London.

Scotland Yard officers said today that the victim, 23, who was stabbed in St Paul's Way in Tower Hamlets on Sunday had lost his fight for life.

He had been stabbed multiple times, police said.

Officers were called at 430pm on Sunday to the the scene of the stabbing.

They found two men with knife injuries. Both were taken to hospital and one of the men was pronounced dead later on Sunday night.

The victim's next of kin have been informed. Formal identification awaits.

The second victim, aged 25, remains in hospital. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Police officers were today scouring the scene for evidence and cordons are in place.
