Tower Hamlets stabbing: Four men arrested after man, 23, 'knifed to death after breaking up argument'

Victim: Alimuz Zaman, known as Alom, was stabbed in St Paul's Way and died in hospital

Four men have been arrested after a man in east London was chased and stabbed up to seven times with a 'Rambo Knife.'

Alimuz Zaman, known as Alom, 23, was stabbed in Mile End on Sunday, he died hours later.

Officers said they had arrested four men on Monday, two aged 23 and two aged 19 in connection with the incident. They remain in custody.

Mr Zaman was ambushed as he went to buy food to break fast with his family, who said he had broken up an argument between two groups of men earlier in the day.

He collapsed in a pool of blood outside a children’s play centre in St Paul’s Way at about 4.30pm on Sunday. Medics battled to save him but he died in hospital.

A second victim, aged 25, has been discharged from hospital.

Mr Zaman’s brother, Kom, said the killing happened hours after his younger sibling had intervened in an argument on the Burdett Estate.

Any witnesses or anyone with information should call detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command on 020 8345 3775.
