Armed police officers cordoned off Tower Bridge in London to investigate a possible suspicious package.
The 125-year-old landmark over the River Thames was closed for about an hour before officers determined the package did not pose a threat and the scene was cleared.
A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: "Police attended Tower Bridge at 12.18pm to reports of a possible suspicious package.
"The bridge was closed while the package was examined and was found to be non suspicious.
"The bridge has now re-opened."
Photos posted on social media show the iconic bridge taped off with armed police and several vehicles on scene.

Also close to City Hall, the Tower of London and many other attractions, the area would normally be crowded with thousands of workers on their lunch break and tourists.
However, it was largely deserted due to the coronavirus lockdown.
Earlier, City of London Police said in a statement: "Tower Bridge is currently closed to traffic and pedestrians, whilst we investigate an incident on the bridge.
"Please find alternative routes. Thank you for your patience."
The force said the bridge re-opened at about 1.15pm on Friday.
Tower Bridge opened in June 1894 and is now used by tens of thousands of cars every day - when the UK isn't in lockdown.
Thousands of pedestrians normally walk across it every day and many visit an exhibition that has glass floors in the high-level walkways.
