Touts cash in on Liam Gallagher tickets - minutes after gig went on sale

Tickets to see Liam Gallagher at  Newcastle Arena are being touted online at four-times their value.

Fans rushed to Ticketmaster and Seetickets this morning to try and secure tickets to see the former Oasis frontman's , two years after he played to a sold out Arena in 2017.

But many were left disappointed, as tickets were all snapped up within minutes of going on sale.

It wasn't just genuine fans buying them. Tickets to see Liam Gallagher were touted on re-sale site Viagogo for as much FOUR times their face value, shortly after going on sale.

ChronicleLive found standing tickets listed on Viagogo for £203 per ticket, compared to a face value of £45.00. The seller listed four tickets at that price.

Fans took to social media to vent their frustration.

If you are a fan without a ticket, then Ticketmaster's own re-selling site now only allows ticket-holders to re-sell for face value, so it is advisable to check there instead of Viagogo, where touts can profit by charging inflated prices.

ChronicleLive asked Newcastle Utilita Arena's team if re-sold tickets sourced from third party websites will be valid for the gig.

An Arena spokesperson said: "Whilst re-selling tickets is not illegal or against Arena ticket terms & conditions, re-selling for profit is.

"We strongly advise all patrons to purchase from official venue box offices ticketing services provider such as Ticketmaster for full protection and satisfaction."
