Tourists evacuated from Guinness Storehouse in Dublin after fire breaks out

The Guinness Storehouse had to be evacuated yesterday after a fire broke out on the premises.

Revellers had to wait outside for around an hour as the Dublin Fire Brigade were called to deal with the small fire.

Luckily, there was no damage and nobody was injured while customers were eventually let back in to finish their trip and given free tickets for another visit.

A spokesperson confirmed the incident to Dublin Live saying: "There was a small isolated fire in the Guinness Storehouse yesterday.

"The fire was contained and there were no injuries or indeed any damage to the building . As per our fire safety procedures, the building was fully evacuated and the Dublin Fire Brigade was called to the site.

"There was no damage to the building and we reopened the Guinness Storehouse yesterday afternoon."

Dublin Fire Brigade act quickly to quench blaze at Guinness brewery 

The incident was the second in the space of a couple of weeks as the DFB were called to quell a blaze after people spotted smoke in the distance.

Firefighters were quick to calm the nerves of those speculating the incident, saying on twitter: "One fire engine has dealt with a minor fire off Victoria Quay, smoke was visible but the incident has been dealt with."

Guinness Fire & Rescue, a 24/7 emergency response service that works on the compounds of St James' Brewery, were also on hand.
