Tourists evacuated from Guinness Storehouse after fire alarm triggered

Tourists were ushered out of one of Dublin's most popular spots in confusion today after an alarm was triggered forcing a mass evacuation.

The entire Guinness Storehouse was cleared today after a fire alarm as triggered with brewery lovers left standing out unsure if the place was safe.

A spokesperson confirmed to Dublin Live and apologised to everyone for the inconvenience caused.

They said: “The Guinness Storehouse was evacuated at 2.45pm this afternoon after a fire alarm triggered.

"As per our fire safety procedures the building was fully evacuated. Following confirmation that this was a false alarm the visitor experience reopened.

"We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”

Many took to Twitter to post footage of them standing out.

One said: "Just got evacuated from the #GuinnessStorehouse in Dublin and not sure why."

Another wrote: "Just got evacuated from the @guinness storehouse in Dublin. Fire alarms and first responders st the scene."

The brewery has its own fire brigade who attend the scenes if anything serious happens.

It's the second time the spot was cleared out in two months after a small fire at the start of April.

Luckily, there was no damage and nobody was injured while customers were eventually let back in to finish their trip and given free tickets for another visit.
