
Tourists brave the snow to gather in front of the Kaminarimon gate of Sensoji temple in Tokyo's Asakusa district on Saturday morning. A strong mass of cold air brought snow to the Kanto region starting in the early morning. Central Tokyo saw its first accumulation of snow this winter, with flakes beginning to fall at 3:40 a.m. and heavy snow observed at around 10 a.m. Wider areas of Tokyo were also blanketed with snow.
