A British tourist in Amsterdam received a nasty shock when his £100-a-night Airbnb turned out to be a roadside shipping container.
Ben Speller, from London, booked a one-night stay with the rental website during his trip to the Dutch city on May 8.
The listing on Airbnb promised a "clean home with a private bathroom" for £100 per night - something of a bargain in the notoriously expensive tourist city.
But he was horrified to discover that his accommodation was in fact a mattress in a sea container next to a Portaloo that opened up onto the road.
"When we were on the train the guy messaged me saying there was a problem with the running water and do I want to cancel. I said no because we didn’t have an alternative at the time."

He explained: "When we arrived we drove past the container three times in the taxi because couldn’t believe that could be it.
"I then checked the listing again and he’d changed it to container home."
Ben said he was so shocked by the state of the room that he decided to book another hotel room which set him back £230.
Ben posted about the debacle on social media but added that he got "£100 quids' worth in comedy value".

The owner of the listing refused to reimburse Ben and told him that he should be "grateful" for his help.
Thankfully, Airbnb decided to refund Ben the full amount plus the £230 for the hotel.
An Airbnb spokesman told the Sun : "We have removed the host and listings from our platform.
"Misrepresented or fraudulent listings have no place on our platform, and our team works hard to constantly strengthen our defenses and stay ahead of bad actors."
