- A new road safety campaign in Scotland is encouraging tourists driving in the Highlands to display "T plates" to help reduce crashes.
- The green "T plates", which have "tourist" written on them, are designed to alert other road users that the driver may be unfamiliar with Scottish routes.
- It comes after Transport Scotland warned of an increase in crashes caused by “inexperience of driving on the left”.
- Road safety campaigner Laura Hanser tested the plates and observed that other drivers maintained distance, particularly on collision-prone rural roads like the A9.
- Transport Scotland has declared the £9.99 T plates, which are designed to be easily attached and transferred between vehicles, legal for use.
