- Spanish has overtaken French as the most popular foreign language at GCSE level, with entries increasing by 1.6 per cent.
- French entries have decreased by 1.9 per cent and German entries declined by 7.6 per cent.
- At A-level, French and German entries have also decreased, by 8.3 per cent and 6.8 per cent respectively, while Spanish A-level entries have increased by 1.4 per cent.
