Rory McIlroy is the 2019 FedEx Cup champion.
McIlroy posted a final-round 66 at East Lake on Sunday to win the Tour Championship and $15 million in bonus money.
He started the week 5-under par, five strokes back of Justin Thomas, based on the new scoring format deployed for the first time at this event. But he made up those five strokes with rounds of 66, 67, 68 and 66 to win by four strokes over Xander Schauffele.
Brooks Koepka tied for third with Thomas at 13-under, five shots back. Paul Casey finished fifth at 9-under.
It’s McIlroy’s second FedEx Cup championship, which he also won in 2016. This is his third win of the 2018-19 season, joining Koepka as the only three-time winners on tour.
