Aside from all the transfer excitement, Everton have a match to prepare for on Saturday.
The Blues kick off their Premier League campaign in just over a week as they travel to north London to face Jose Mourinho's Tottenham Hotspur, in what will be a tough opener.
However, there's still the matter of one more pre-season match to deal with first.
Carlo Ancelotti's side have currently only played one game in preparation for the new Premier League term, drawing 3-3 against Blackpool at Bloomfield Road last month.
Everton were scheduled to face Blackburn Rovers on Tuesday, but that match was called off after discussions between the two clubs.
And so, the Blues' second and final pre-season match of the summer will instead come on Saturday when Preston North End make the short trip to Goodison Park.
Interestingly, however, Ancelotti will be without a few key members of the squad as international duty has led to some players representing European countries being called away.
So, how could Everton's starting line-up for this match potentially look?
Goalkeeper
Here is where the manager perhaps has his most difficulty.
Jordan Pickford is away with England, Jonas Lossl has been called up to the Denmark squad and Joao Virginia is with the Portgual under-21 setup this weekend.
So, with Everton's usual three options all unavailable this weekend, who is likely to get the call?
The place will probably fall to under-23s shot-stopper Harry Tyrer, who was on the bench for the Blues when they made the trip to Bloomfield Road last month.
This will no doubt be a fantastic opportunity for the youngster to show Ancelotti what he can do in a first team setting, so it will be a great day for him regardless.
Defence
Again, there are some absentees for the boss to consider here.
Seamus Coleman is representing the Republic of Ireland for their upcoming Nations League game against Finland on Sunday, while on the opposite flank Lucas Digne has been called up for France.
So from the start you might expect to see Jonjoe Kenny once more, as he was in from the first whistle against Blackpool on his return to the Everton setup following last season's loan with Schalke.
On the left hand side, Niels Nkounkou could be given his first start for his new club as he is working with the first team temporarily following his transfer from Marseille earlier this summer.

He was impressive when introduced against Blackpool, so could be given another chance here. Another option though is potentially Fabian Delph, who has played that position before.
In central defence Ancelotti loses a player in Michael Keane, who is away with England, but potentially has gained one back with Yerry Mina back in training.
So, you'd expect the central defensive pairing may well be the Colombia international and Mason Holgate, although Jarrad Branthwaite could still have a shout at being involved of course.
Midfield
Well it has been an exciting time for Evertonians concerned with the club's midfield options with the latest transfer news over the likes of Allan, James Rodriguez and Abdoulaye Doucoure.
However, at the time of writing at least, none have signed on the dotted line as of yet - and so you wouldn't expect any to be involved from the start against Preston on Saturday.
In that case, then, how would Everton's midfield look?
Delph could potentially make his return from injury, with Gylfi Sigurdsson currently the only other option in central midfield thanks to Jean-Philippe Gbamin's absence, Andre Gomes being away with Portugal and Tom Davies representing England's under-21s.
Could we perhaps see a 4-3-3 style utilised by the boss once more as seemed to be the case against Blackpool?
That would give Alex Iwobi a spot in behind the striker with potentially Sigurdsson and Delph in behind.
Of course, we could still see a 4-4-2 which could see Anthony Gordon on the left hand side and Theo Walcott on the right flank - with two of Delph, Iwobi and Sigurdsson taking up the central slots.
There are certainly a lot of decisions for the boss to make here.
Forwards
Again, this will really depend on which system Ancelotti opts to start with at Goodison on Saturday.
If it's a 4-4-2, then you can expect Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin to strike up their strong partnership up front once more to try and break through the Preston defence.
The Brazilian missed the match against Blackpool, but has been back in training and is looking to get minutes under his belt ahead of the season opener.
If the boss instead opts for a 4-3-3, then you'd expect Richarlison to move over to either one of the flanks - with potentially Anthony Gordon taking up the other.
Calvert-Lewin, meanwhile, should still get the chance to bag another goal or two before coming up against Spurs in just over a week.
Predicted team (4-4-2): Tyrer; Kenny, Mina, Holgate, Nkounkou; Walcott, Delph, Sigurdsson, Gordon; Richarlison, Calvert-Lewin
