Touching messages and tributes left after man's body sparks huge police response at park

Touching messages and heartwarming tributes have been left after a man was tragically found dead in a park.

The body was discovered in Calderstones Park shortly after 10am on Friday, sparking a huge police and forensic response.

Officers cordoned off a large area of the woodlands inside the park to keep members of the public away from where the man's body was found.

Police are currently treating the death as "unexplained" while they carry out more enquiries but news of the tragic death has caused hundreds of people to pour heartfelt messages onto social media in tribute to him.

Gilldavo said: "So very sad, condolences to his family, may he rest in peace xx."

Carine also said: "Sad way to die like that for anyone. Poor guy whoever he was. RIP love x."

 

Rose Rose added: "RIP. Deepest sympathy to his family and friends."

On the ECHO Facebook page, people also extended their condolences to the man's family.

Steve Settle said: "RIP - so sad for his family."

Lianne Mason added: "So sad. RIP poor soul."

 

An investigation into the death and the circumstances of how the man died are currently still ongoing.

spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "We can confirm that police are currently in the Allerton area of Liverpool after a man's body was found this morning.

"At 10.15am, officers were called to Calderstones Park after a man was sadly found deceased."

They added: "The incident is initially being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances and identify the man.

"A cordon is in place as enquiries continue."
