The Lithuanian national team paid tribute to former Hearts captain Marius Zaliukas before their win over the Faroe Islands last night.
During the warm up, the squad all sported t-shirts with 'Zaliukas 6' on the front as a mark of respect to their former teammate, who sadly passed away after a battle with motor neurone disease earlier this month.
The hosts managed a victory in Zaliukas’ memory as well, running out 2-1 winners.
Gratas Sirgedas’s double right on the stroke of half-time was enough, despite Gunnar Vatnhamar pulling one back for the Faores in stoppage time.
The squad included ex-Tynecastle winger Arvydas Novikovas, who was close to Zaliukas during his five years at Tynecastle.
Zaliukas made 25 appearances for his country after graduating from the Under 21 set-up 2005 after ten appearances at that level.
Over 11 years with the national team, he scored once in a 2014 World Cup qualifier against Slovakia on 7 September 2012.
He was his last cap for his country in 2016.
