Jose Mourinho insists he does not need a break after being sacked by Spurs and the Portuguese will inevitably return to the away dugout at St James' Park in the future.
Mourinho, who was fired just a few days before Spurs' Carabao Cup final against Man City, failed to win a trophy during his 17-month spell in North London.
Spurs currently lie five points off fourth-placed West Ham in the table and are facing up to the very real possibility of another season without Champions League football. Mourinho also oversaw an embarrassing Europa League exit at the hands of Dinamo Zagreb last month.
The Londoners, of course, are one of six Premier League sides who have signed up to the widely-panned European Super League although Mourinho's dismissal was purely related to results.
Mourinho has kept his counsel following his departure but the 58-year-old insists he is 'always in football' and has 'no need' for a break.
Mourinho likes working in England and has had four spells managing in the Premier League so it would be a huge surprise if he did not take up another post here in the future.
While many supporters would love to see Mourinho take charge of Newcastle one day, it is hard to see that happening as long as Mike Ashley is the club's owner.
But you can bet that Mourinho, who considers himself a 'little Magpie', will relish the chance to take a team to St James' again and return to the stadium he calls 'Mr Robson's home' - particularly if supporters are allowed back in stadiums.
Mourinho has always felt a connection with Newcastle through Sir Bobby Robson, who used to tell his protégée all about his 26-mile pilgrimage from Langley Park to St James' as a young supporter
Indeed, Mourinho's five-year apprenticeship with Sir Bobby at Sporting Lisbon, Porto and Barcelona taught him so much about football, life and the spirit of the North East.
Although Mourinho has a poor record at St James' - winning just one league game since 2005 - the former Chelsea and Manchester United manager still has a soft spot for the stadium and Geordies.
Jose Morais, who served as Mourinho's assistant at Chelsea, Inter and Real Madrid and is one of his best friends in football, likens the atmosphere at a packed St James' to 'a 'fire'
"Jose's a guy who's passionate for the game. He has passion for the fans," Morais previously told ChronicleLive.
"He respects football fans so much and the passion they have for the game because he is passionate for the game. He admires a crowd like this and this is the reason why he loves football.
"He worked with Sir Bobby and he has so much respect for him that he always has positive emotions visiting this stadium, knowing the story behind St James' and Sir Bobby. It's always something that touches his heart. These are feelings I know he has as his friend."
