Touchdown Wire names QB Jake Locker one of the Titans’ worst first-round draft picks since 2010

The Tennessee Titans have dealt with issues at the quarterback position for years now.

Several names have come and gone as the team has attempted to remedy the issue, but very few have had quite as unfortunate of a time as quarterback Jake Locker did.

Locker was drafted by the Titans at No. 8 overall in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft.

When the Touchdown Wire’s Barry Werner listed his 45 worst NFL draft picks since 2010, he mentioned Locker.

“Jake Locker chose football over baseball. And it didn’t work out,” he wrote. “In four seasons as a Titan, the most games the Washington star appeared in was 11. Overall, he was 9-14 as a starter and announced his retirement in 2015, saying he no longer had the desire to play.”

It was hard to predict Locker would struggle as much as he did in the NFL, considering a decorated college career that saw him named as a three-time Honorable Mention All-Pac-10 (2007, 2009, 2010), Freshman All-American (2007), Pac-10 Freshman of the Year (2007) and Holiday Bowl Champion (2010) for Washington.

By the time his NFL career had come to a close in 2014, he had completed 408-of-709 passes for 4,967 yards with 27 touchdowns and 22 interceptions.
