Tottenham youngster Harvey White has committed his long-term future to the club by penning a new contract in north London until 2024.
Making a name for himself in the academy, the midfielder has been a regular in Jose Mourinho's training sessions since his appointment as head coach last November.
Mourinho did claim at the end of last season that he had told Daniel Levy that the 19-year-old and Dennis Cirkin would both be part of his squad for the 2020/21 season.
White has been on the bench a number of times in the Europa League so far this term and was handed his competitive bow for the Lilywhites in the recent 4-0 win over Ludogorets at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
White is another of the club's talented academy players who is seen as one for the future in N17 and Mourinho and the club have subsequently offered him fresh terms to extend his stay at Tottenham until the summer of 2024.
Having now made his first-team debut for Spurs, White will be intent on taking to the pitch in a Premier League game at some point in the not too distant future.
White was one of a number of youngsters used in pre-season and Mourinho did hail the player after taking part in the comfortable win over Reading back in August.
“He’s a kid but he’s a talented kid. Is he ready for the responsibilities, for the intensity, for the physicality of the Premier League? No,” Mourinho said, as quoted by the club’s official Twitter account.
“But is he ready to train with us every day to have this evolution and to play in these matches and eventually in some official matches where we need to rotate players? Yes he is so good for him.”
White has been a regular in the development squad this season, scoring three goals in his nine appearances.
