Conor Gallagher, Randal Kolo Muani and Lucas Bergvall all start at the Stadium of Light, with Antonin Kinsky in goal.

Destiny Udogie is back at left-back, with Djed Spence on the bench.

Spurs are without Guglielmo Vicario for De Zerbi’s first game in charge in charge after he failed to recover in time after hernia surgery, so Kinsky returns goal for the first time since his nightmare performance away at Atletico Madrid last month.

Pape Matar Sarr is a on the bench after suffering a shoulder injury while playing for Senegal. Mathys Tel is also on the bench after pulling out of the France Under-21 squad.

In a major blow to De Zerbi as he bids to save Spurs from relegation, Mohammed Kudus could miss the rest of the season.

Kudus has been out since the start of January with a quad injury and it was hoped he would be closing in on a return after the international break, but the winger has suffered a setback and could now have to undergo surgery that could rule him out for the rest of the season.
