Harry Kane starts for Tottenham in today’s Carabao Cup.
Kane has been recovering from an ankle injury and has hardly trained this week but he has been passed fit in a major boost for Spurs as they bid to end their 13-year trophy drought.
The England captain limped off after scoring twice during last Friday night’s 2-2 draw with Everton and was not in the squad for Wednesday’s 2-1 win over Southampton.
Tottenham interim manager Ryan Mason has given Kane every chance to prove his fitness this week and made final checks on him on Sunday morning.
After speaking to Kane, Mason has decided to start the 27-year-old against Manchester City.
Harry Winks also comes in for Spurs. Gareth Bale and Tanguy Ndombele are on the bench.
Manchester City are at full-strength apart from in goal, where Steffen starts ahead of Ederson. Kevin De Bruyne is fit and starts.
