The manager may though be tempted to introduce Harry Winks to increase his side’s control in midfield but Danny Rose, Toby Alderweireld and Eriksen - Tottenham’s dead men walking - do not deserve to return to the XI on merit.
Right-back, as ever, remains a problem position but Pochettino is determined to give Serge Aurier a run in the team, even now Juan Foyth can provide the Ivorian with competition.
Dele Alli played twice in four days this week and Pochettino may decide to be cautious with the 23-year-old, which would open the door for Winks, Eriksen or Lucas Moura, who scored at Anfield last season.
