Tottenham XI vs Everton: Confirmed team news, predicted lineup, latest injuries for Premier League game

Jose Mourinho can effectively start planning for next season after the dismal defeat at Sheffield United all but ended Tottenham's Champions League hopes – but he has insisted professional pride remains on the line.

Everton's visit is the second of four matches across ten days but the bulk of Tottenham's rotation is likely to come in Thursday's trip to struggling Bournemouth (three days before the north London derby), where the likes of Jan Vertonghen, Oliver Skipp, Tanguy Ndombele and Ryan Sessegnon will all hope to start.

There could be some minor tweaks against the Toffees, however, with Toby Alderweireld in contention to play his first minutes since the restart after a wretched defensive performance at Bramall Lane. Davinson Sanchez is the most likely to drop out.

Giovani Lo Celso appeared to struggle in the second half in Yorkshire as he continues to play through a niggling groin problem but the playmaker will continue if he can, while Harry Winks could add extra support in midfield, giving Moussa Sissoko more freedom to attack.

Dele Alli is unlikely to be risked while he nurses a minor hamstring complaint but Erik Lamela could add freshness to the attack at the expense of Steven Bergwijn and Lucas Moura.
