Tottenham Hotspur teenager Troy Parrott has received a call-up to the Republic of Ireland's squad.
The 17-year-old, who signed his first professional deal on his birthday in February, is part of a 40-man provisional squad for next month's UEFA EURO 2020 European Qualifier against Switzerland as well as the International friendly against Bulgaria five days later.
This is the first call-up to the senior squad for the Spurs wonderkid and Ireland manager Mick McCarthy has explained the reason for naming such a large party.
"I dont know what's going to happen between now and the next couple of games,"McCarthy told FAI TV. "We've got Saturday games, Tuesday games, Saturday and then the Saturday before me meet up.
"Players could get injured before we meet up.
"Switzerland are a good side. They have been in the higher echelons of the top teams in Europe for the last number of years."
For Parrott, this call-up rounds off an impressive summer for him.
He was part of the Spurs squad tour to Asia - impressing against Juventus - hit the post against Real Madrid in the Audi Cup and looks set to play a role for the first-team this season.
But how did the youngster react to being called up by Ireland? Well, he's kept it cool for now by just 'liking' the announcement on Twitter.
