Tottenham youngster Aaron Skinner has had a birthday to remember after signing his first professional contract with the club.
Turning 18 on Sunday, the defender has celebrated the big milestone by putting pen to paper in north London.
Previously in Bury's academy after representing the club from Under-12 up to Under-18 level, the player played a key role in the Lancashire side reaching the quarter-finals of the FA Youth Cup in the 2018/19 season.
Bury's brilliant run to the final eight was ended by Liverpool who ran out 5-1 winners at Gigg Lane, with the Reds eventually going all the way to the final and clinching the trophy after beating Man City on penalties.
Making his debut for his former side's U18s as a 14-year-old, the youngster quite clearly has the talent and he joined Spurs' U18 team back in November following a short trial period.
Skinner has clearly impressed in his six months at Hotspur Way and the club have now moved quickly to tie him down for the future.
Confirming the news on his Instagram account, the defender said: "Buzzing to be able to celebrate my birthday agreeing my first professional contract @spursofficial.
"Thanks to everyone who's helped me get to this point so far, uno who you are."
Skinner will now be hoping to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Harry Kane, Harry Winks and Japhet Tanganga who have all progressed from the club's academy to the first team.
A number of Spurs' academy players have caught the eye of Jose Mourinho in his short time at the club so far, with Malachi Fagan-Walcott coming off the bench in the team's last game against RB Leipzig to make his professional debut.
Given the impact he's had during his short time at the club, Skinner could be the next one to impress the Tottenham boss and make the step up to the first team.
