Tottenham wonderkid Dane Scarlett sends Instagram message after making his Premier League debut

Tottenham Hotspur's 2-0 win over West Brom was special for one youngster in particular.

Second half goals from the returning Harry Kane and Son Heung-min ensured Spurs returned to winning ways after three straight defeats in the Premier League against Liverpool, Brighton, and Chelsea.

With the result in the bag, Jose Mourinho's final substitution with just seconds left on the clock saw him hand teenager Dane Scarlett his Premier League debut - thus making him the club's youngest ever player in the competition at 16 years and 320 days.

The forward, who has netted 20 goals at academy level this season, is now training with the first team after such a brilliant start to the 2020/21 campaign and took the place of Son.

Scarlett is no stranger to Tottenham fans, as he made his first-ever competitive appearance for the club in the 4-0 Europa League win over Ludogorets back in November.

Furthermore, he is being tipped to be a huge player for the north London outfit in the future and to have featured in the first-team on two occasions this year proves he is on the right track.

And unsurprisingly, the 16-year-old is delighted to have made his Premier League bow. So much so that he's taken to social media and reacted to what was a huge moment in his fledgling career.

"Premier League Debut. Massive performance from the boys," he wrote on Instagram. "Grateful for every opportunity.

"The hard work continues."

Speaking about Scarlett after the win over West Brom, Mourinho made a major prediction regarding the wonderkid's development.

"The kid coming on. I don't think he even touched the ball, but for me the feeling of the kid coming on means a lot to the academy and for the kid because he's 16," the Tottenham head coach told the BBC.

"It means a lot to me because I wanted to be the one to put him on in a Premier League match because I know that he will be somebody in a few years."
