Tottenham head coach Rehanne Skinner has put pen to paper on a new contract with the Women’s Super League (WSL) club.

Skinner will remain in north London until at least the summer of 2024 after impressing the likes of Spurs chairman Daniel Levy.

Tottenham currently sit fifth in the WSL with eight wins from 17 matches so far this term, leaving them on course for their highest-ever league finish despite back-to-back defeats against Aston Villa and Manchester City.

They also reached the semi-finals of the Continental League Cup, losing 3-1 to City in February.

Former Leicester coach and Arsenal assistant Skinner was first appointed by Tottenham in November 2020, leaving her role as Phil Neville’s England No2 to succeed Karen Hills and Juan Amoros.

After agreeing her extension, Skinner said: “I’m delighted to sign a new contract. Throughout the course of my time here I’ve felt really supported by the Club in terms of the vision we have as a collective. We’re on a journey and it’s a chance for us to keep building.

“We know where we are and where a club of Tottenham Hotspur’s stature should be. You can’t underestimate the value of top-quality training facilities and we’ve been supported completely. The Club is meeting my ambitions and we know the direction we want to go in.”

Levy added: “We are delighted that Rehanne has agreed a new contract. The team has delivered consistently strong performances and I know Rehanne and her coaching staff are driven to take them even further. We’re all excited about what the future holds.”
